What is purchase order automation?
Purchase order automation connects a buyer's procurement system to a supplier's order management system, so purchase orders arrive translated and mapped instead of being retyped by hand.
It is also called inbound purchase order automation or sales order automation.
How do your buyers send orders?
Through their procurement system
cXML, EDI X12, and more. We translate each buyer's format and deliver the order into your system.
Purchase orders from your buyer's procurement system are delivered into the order management system you already run, with no manual entry.
Buyer requirements, mapped
Every buyer has its own requirements. We handle the protocol and data translation: cXML, EDI X12, or whatever your buyer requires.

Common questions
What's the difference between PunchOut and purchase order automation?
PunchOut is how your buyer shops your store. Purchase order automation is how the resulting order reaches your system.
Does this include invoicing?
No. Invoice Automation is a separate solution.
Which order formats do you support?
We configure to your buyer's specification, including cXML and EDI X12. If your buyer requires something else, talk to us about your setup.
Can you automate purchase orders that arrive by email or PDF?
Yes. Most of our work is orders from buyers' procurement systems, using standards like cXML and EDI. We can also capture purchase orders sent as PDFs or email and deliver them into your system.
